About the Author

Joe Cobb Crawford is a Southern self-published author of nine printed books, one ebook, and one audio book. Their settings and characters are predominantly yesteryear Appalachia. His genres include memoir, murder mystery, short stories, satirical comedy, cautionary tale, and anthology.

Joe is a licensed professional electrical engineer and holds a Master of Science degree from The University of Tennessee. He began his writing career in 2010 with a memoir entitled The Poetry Company: Memoirs of a Chicken Catcher, a coming of age story and tribute to his chicken catcher buddies, a rowdy crew with whom he worked for seven years.

In 2015 his fifth printed book, a murder mystery entitled The LIES We BURY gained him recognition as a Writer of the Year candidate by the Georgia Writers Association. His essays and short stories have repeatedly been similarly recognized.

He honed his writing skills by attending courses at The University of Iowa’s Summer Writing Festival. A native of Blue Ridge, Georgia, he and his wife, Susan, live on Lake Hartwell near Toccoa, Georgia.
