Joe Cobb Crawford, PE, is a native of The Great Copper Basin of Tennessee, the setting and material source for his first coming-of-age novel. A hampered student who quit school three times, he married at age seventeen, but became a scholar and graduated with honors from Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, Georgia, and holds a MS degree in Engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. Joe is a licensed professional engineer in numerous southeastern states. The Poultry Industry, of which he writes, is only one of many industries where today he trains people in electrical engineering, safety, and energy conservation initiatives. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and he works with the IEEE to develop electrical safety design standards. He resides on Lake Hartwell near Toccoa, Georgia with his wife of forty-three years, Susan, an elementary school principal. Joe credits faith, family and early lessons learned from the most unlikely souls of God's humanity, his fellow "Chicken Catchers", as the inspiration for his life's accomplishments, and the well-head from which his stories are drawn.
